I’m Caroline and I was born in France. I grew up as a pretty shy kid hiding behind books of chemistry wishing to be that popular girl, you know the one that every guy wanted to date and every girl was hoping to be. Never really happened.
After few years of total transparency in high school and university, I booked a plane ticket for Australia with my two best friends with no real plan in mind. I wanted to learn how to surf, I never did. I wanted to live the unexpected, I did. This trip was the adventure of a lifetime. Back to reality ten months later, no money, no job, no boyfriend, no outback, no kangaroos, no idea about the direction to take. I was home but I was lost.
So I did what I do best, I took a plane to England and looked for a job, any job. I’ve finally landed one in a cinema, cleaning toilets and making popcorn were two of my duties. The job was crappy but the people were amazing, I made friends for life.
One year later, I was working as Marketing Executive for a translation company learning about wordpress and social media. The job was great but the corporate life trapped my dreams, I realized this wasn’t for me. Today, I’m back in France, living free from the rules by making shoes for women concerned by bunions with my mum. Our brand is called Caroline Macaron and I hope many women will love our shoes. I haven’t felt so happy and alive for a long time. Tomorrow, who knows…maybe moving to Nashville to sell French pastries and listen to country music all day long. I have no plan, only wishes.
